While completing a two-year program in college in the Veterinary Medical Technician program. My family had a beagle named Lucious. When going over cancer diseases and learning the symptoms, I discovered Lucious seemed to have the same visible symptoms. Taking him to the vet, he tested positive for Lymphoma. We started chemo immediately and was able to enjoy him for the next six months. He then passed away when the cancer spread. 

A couple of months later, my hairdresser mentioned she had a toy poodle that was 2 years old. She was looking to rehome only because she felt he should not be kept outside with her other bigger dogs. I thought about it and was still a little reserved about having another pet. Two weeks later she asked me again and I told her I would take him for a couple of days and let her know after that. Needles to say, he never left! I named him Peppi and he never left my side. He was such a wonderful, friendly and protective member of our family. When my twins were born four years later, he was their older brother in since. He lived a wonderful happy life until age 14.
